A guy walks into a website...

Stand-up comedians and websites have one thing in common – a limited amount of time to make an impression. And if your website bombs, your visitors won't even bother heckling, worse – they'll simply go somewhere else. As a frequent locally-performing stand-up comedian Evan's website needed to do more than make an impression: it needed to be functional and flexible that could regularly communicate to his fans through social media, pictures and videos as well as make him attractive to agencies.

Too many “entertainer” websites resemble sleazy nightclubs: black backgrounds with a gross neon glow that makes you feel like you're in an uncomfortable conversation with someone who's trying just a little too hard. As an alternative, we went with a site that was equal parts rough and elegant, clean yet crazy, a light breathable, functional website with an edge that was more than just an advertisement - Evan’s site is a WordPress solution that allows him to easily manage his upcoming shows, blog entries, social media, photos and videos. On top of all that – it's loaded with personality. Ultimately, it means he gets to spend less time on updating his website and more time doing what he does best – making people laugh.

If you're a working performer, you don’t have to be a big name celebrity to have a killer website. In fact — taking their approach isn’t always the way to go. Many times it's just better to put the focus on the fans – they're the ones who ultimately help you to succeed.
